Professional Experience: Grainger Wyckoff, BS
Grainger Wyckoff, Associate with Beacon College Funding Solutions, Inc., has over ten years experience in working with students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), in completing college applications, and in applying for and successfully obtaining financial aid, grants, and scholarships.
When the family first consults Beacon, Grainger collects information from the family in order to analyze their current financial situation, and their educational goals. Based on the family’s data, Grainger uses specialized software to complete a preliminary FAFSA and calculate an initial estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Grainger and the family then discuss the student’s prospective college choices, and she estimates the costs of attendance and aid award patterns for each. From this analysis, Grainger will be able to identify actions that the family could take to lower the estimated EFC or otherwise position the family to find the optimum level for its financial participation. Using the initial EFC estimate and school- specific information, Grainger continues to work with the family as Nancy Corrigan, CFA, develops a specific and unique plan to reach the family’s financial goals.
Grainger comes to Beacon from Seattle, Washington, where she was an Independent Living Specialist for the Young Adult Services Department of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Grainger’s responsibilities in this position included working with teens and young adults on successful high school/equivalency completion. She also helped students choose appropriate colleges or vocational programs to meet their interests and skills.
Prior to joining the YMCA, Grainger held the position of Youth Services case manager for Brighton Center, Inc., of Newport, Kentucky. There she worked with high school students in the foster care system to complete high school/equivalency and to apply to colleges.
Prior to her work in social services, Grainger was a classroom teacher in San Antonio, Texas where she also served as head and assistant sports coach at the middle school level. Grainger also worked and volunteered with the Corrective-Adaptive aquatic programs for youth and adults at the Central YWCA of Dallas, Texas.
Grainger holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Trinity University of San Antonio, Texas as well as a Texas Teachers Certificate.
In Seattle, Grainger volunteered with the Common Cents Penny Harvest Program, which teaches children aged 4-14 about philanthropy by collecting pennies and turning those pennies into grants for community organizations, serving two years as a member of its Advisory Board. |

Professional Experience: Nancy M. Corrigan, CFA
Nancy Corrigan created Beacon College Funding Solutions in response to requests from several of her financial management clients who needed more specialized services focusing on (1) the college admissions process and (2) keeping up the payment of college expenses over extended periods of time. Nancy first analyzes the family’s finances and assists the family in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and (if advisable) the CSS Profile, the key forms upon which most colleges and universities base their financial aid decisions. Then Nancy works with the family to position and protect its assets through the full-time student’s college years.
Through Corrigan Financial, Inc., Nancy provides comprehensive financial planning, portfolio management, and risk management services to her individual, family, and business clients. Her planning and investment services encompass all asset classes – the “standard” (publicly traded stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.) as well as the “non-standard” (restricted company stock, stock options, warrants, private equity, private debt, commercial real estate, etc.). Her risk management services include the assessment and recommendations addressing personal, professional, and business-entity risks. Her career as financial advisor began at A.G. Edwards & Sons, where she provided a wide range of services in all areas of financial planning and portfolio management for her clients.
Prior to joining A.G. Edwards, Nancy completed a nine-month consulting assignment as interim Chief Financial Officer of a privately owned temporary staffing firm. In this short time, she not only restructured the company’s financial, accounting and risk management processes and managed human resources activities, but also supervised the installation of new computer systems and applications to position the company for future growth in three locations, San Jose, Sacramento, and Oakland, California.
For AMB Investment Management, Inc., Nancy was responsible for managing and financing a $425 million portfolio of institutional-quality commercial real estate held in a private real estate investment trust. She also held responsibility for the financial reports provided to the REIT’s investors, which were primarily pension plans and foundations.
In her tenure with the University of California, Nancy designed investment policy guidelines, spending/payout policies, and performance management reporting for UC’s $40 billion pension and $5 billion endowment funds that serve the nine campus system.
Nancy held a number of positions at CIGNA, notably as Vice President of Real Estate Investment Services. Previously she had served as the Controller of CIGNA’s Investment Division and had worked in other areas of the company, including assignments in the Group Life, Group Medical, and Pension Divisions.
Nancy holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. She is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco, the CFA Institute. Nancy is a member of the National Association of College Funding Advisors (NACFA). She has been an active member and served on several committees for the Commercial Real Estate Women of San Francisco.
After three consecutive two-year terms as Treasurer for the Board of Directors of San Francisco Women’s Centers/The Women’s Building, Nancy continued her volunteer work with various committees of this organization. Other non-profit organizations that Nancy has worked with include On Lok (a health services provider for the frail elderly) and My Friend Taught Me (a tutoring program for disadvantaged middle school students). |
